Civic amenity site’s bank holiday hours

Residents using the borough’s civic amenity site this bank holiday are urged to segregate their waste before they go to keep their visit short.

Motorists are also reminded to park within the marked bays while unloading to maximise the number of cars that can move through the Birmingham Street site in Stourbridge.

Throughout the summer Sita, which manages the site for Dudley Council, has an additional queuing system in place on the Birmingham Street car park. This provides space for an extra 30 cars in addition to the 250 yards of off road queuing space on the approach to the site.

Over the bank holiday weekend the civic amenity’s opening hours are:
Saturday & Sunday 8am to 4.30pm
Bank holiday Monday closed
Tuesday August 29 8am to 8pm

Please try to get to the site prior to the closing time as the site’s licence requires it to shut at these times.

Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for the environment, said:

"Last year residents recycled more than 8,000 tonnes of paper, glass and cans and this is set to grow as more and more people in Dudley get the recycling bug.

"Dudley Council is keen to encourage people to visit the civic amenity site and make their visit as quick and easy as possible.

"The extra queuing space helps keep traffic off the ring road and we would urge residents to segregate their waste before they leave home. We would also like residents to consider whether they could make the trip during the week when the site is open from 8am to 8pm until September 30 and 8am to 6pm from October 1 to March 31.

"In addition householders are reminded to make full use of the kerbside recycling and green waste collections."

As well as the civic amenity site there are 68 sites across the borough where people can recycle a range of waste including glass (bottles and jars), paper and food and drink cans.
